Packaging and environment: the new labeling regulations
Starting from January 1, 2022, Legislative Decree 116 of September 3, 2020 will come into force, imposing the obligation of environmental labeling of all packaging with the aim of giving clear indications to the final consumer on how to properly collect waste.
This measure is related to the growing interest from consumers and authorities in environmental issues and the impact that products and packaging can have.
Environmental labeling aims to guide consumers towards environmentally friendly behavior and facilitate the collection and recovery of packaging.
Novacart's commitment to the environment
Novacart has always paid great attention to the environmental impact of its paper and cardboard products, this is why we have already adapted to the new obligations:
- Information on the type of material has been included on the labels according to Decision 97/129 CE (alphanumeric coding), in order to facilitate the correct delivery of packaging materials and the correct identification of our products, guaranteeing the necessary flow of information along the supply chain.
- Our molds, cups and packaging items for food and confectionery use are designed to be used from baking to presentation, so as to reduce the amount of packaging required and therefore the production of waste.
- All our products comply with the European Directive 94/62 EC, relating to packaging and packaging waste, and are designed and manufactured taking into consideration their environmental impact and end of life.
- Many of our paper products also hold FSC certification, which ensures that our raw materials come from responsibly managed forests.
Novacart Group corporate strategies have always been strongly oriented towards reducing environmental impact with a view to sustainable growth and respect for natural resources. Read also here to find out more about our commitment to sustainability.
